Welcome to the Shack Bed &
Breakfast.
haracter
and warmth have been a tradition at the Shack for almost
a century. In the early 1900's, a furniture dealer by the
name of George Graves built the original log structure.
Along with a fireplace in the large living room, a
spacious dining area, and six bedrooms with baths, the
house shared its charm with the beauty of Robinson Lake.
n December 23, 1943,
disaster struck. The Shack was engulfed with fire and
burned to the ground. Twenty-seven months later, the
Shack was reconstructed to every detail of the original.
The need for overnight lodging in the Newaygo County area
was great then as it is now with the ever increasing
tourism and growing industries.
n 1989, The Shack expanded its accommodations to
includes 20 new sleeping rooms (eleven with hot tubs),
banquet facilities for up to 100 people, and a separate
conference room fully equipped for your business needs.
hroughout the years,
the Deurs have made countless friends with people from
all over the world. So if you find yourself traveling
through this neck of the woods sometime, make plans to
stop in and say hello. Surely, the warm welcome you
receive will not be your last. So have look around our
